Demonstration Cooking Class
We are trilled to welcome back Alka Kanoujia of India House Restaurant. Many of our students will remember her warmth and humor, but especially her inspired cooking. Join us as Alka creates a room full of sweet aromas and a flavorful meal to remember. Always inspired by her love for fresh veggies, she’s created a group of dishes that can be made any time of year. As you learn to use flavors and vegetables freely and you’ll be amazed how delicious and versatile your meals will be. Be sure to take notes, you’ll want to recreate these dishes at home.
Sweet potatoes & Brussels sprouts Chaat (gf)
One bite is not enough! A healthy twist on the famous street food in a delicate layering of chickpeas, fresh herbs topped with tamarind limette and pomegranate pearls. Tangy, savory and sweet!
Coconut Chana Saag (gf)
A soothing twist on my grandmother’s recipe of blanched Greens sautéd and simmered in a healing blend of turmeric, caramelized garlic, ginger, cumin, and cinnamon with coconut milk.
Eggplant-Tamarind Pullao (gf)
Delicious and nutritious! A stunning one pot meal of basmati rice dish featuring eggplant, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and digestive spices fragranced with fresh curry leaves.
Avocado-Mango Raita (gf)
Super healthy! Light and delicious cooling yogurt dip served with Naan crisps.
Anjula’s Hot Masala Chai & Parle Je Biscuit
A favorite memory of her beloved Nana.
An assortment of chutneys and pappadums is served, though they are not demonstrated.
